High five!

A timeless art classic by Madison

A belated Happy Easter to all. We had an amazing, and ultimately exhausting, weekend with family. Madison thinks she can really get behind this Easter Bunny thing, though isn’t quite clear on why he didn’t come again on Monday. Since I ended up polishing off what was left in the basket Sunday night, I think once a year is best.

A nice day and a thoughtful gift made for a great excuse to get out the camera. Loved the shadow in this shot.

Summer fun. Beatin’ the NJ heat. What started out as a car washing effort quickly became the Madison show. More fun that way anyway.

DSC_0330Since being outside with an occupied toddler is vastly more pleasant than being inside with a bored one, these days you’ll find us in the yard just about any time the sun is shining. Plus, it gives me an excuse to break out the camera; something I’ve been meaning to get back in the habit of.

DSC_0351Madison adapting to being back East, and adopting the local cuisine enthusiastically. Can’t blame her. I don’t know if anyone has ever satisfactorily explained why NY bagels are better, but I’ve never heard anyone even attempt an argument for why they aren’t.

Chick’s got some attitude, rocking out in the cage. Anyone else hearing “Rock You Like a Hurricane” in the background?

Find a friend.

Party too hard.

Crash too soon.

It’s the American way.

Happy 4th folks!

So, as it turns out, not only am I NOT the only creative person in my house, I might just be the least creative. Below are 3 of the things I woke up to this morning.

Anyone that knows me knows that my birthday has always been one of my favorite days of the year, but this Father’s Day thing has real potential to surpass it.

So far, it’s been amazing, starting with this video. You have to see it. I was blown away the first time I watched. Then, in an entirely unrelated event, something got in my eyes and they started to water a bit. Weird.

Click here or on the pic to watch the video. Go ahead, it’s short. Pay close attention starting at about the 1:03 mark, for a special sound bite from Madison.

My card from Madison.

And the text message that was waiting on my phone when I got up.
